My heart remembers
the way we spoke with eyes
and heard with our souls
where have you gone?
your silent whispers haunt my bed

When you close your eyes
Does my voice echo through your mind
the joy and the pain
do you feel me
I'm lost without you by my side

My heart remembers
how I dreamed each dream with you
looked into each other like long lost friends
waiting for one another
we breathed each breath as one

I long to hear you sigh my name
see your eyes warm to mine
a smile, a touch, senses set afire
in a waking dream
lost in a world of only you

My heart remembers
the serenity within your hands
the smiles and the tears
the ice and the fire
a ray of light through the pouring rain
