These birds parents are
direct from eggs from Kevin Porter.I was told before purchase that this
breed is a very docile, manageable turkey breed which is proving to
be very true. This turkey is a derivative of the royal palm turkey and
is on the small side of usual turkey size. The docile nature is great
for kids who would like to raise turkeys and for anyone who fancied
having a pet turkey. I am suprised at how suited they are to being a
pet. Who woulda thought? |

These are relatively calm and good natured turkeys. My daughter wanted them and she hand raised all of them, going as far as to sneak them into her bedroom to sleep in an open drawer of her bedside table next to her. Now they follow her around. They don't try to fly or leave the yard. They ARE mean to other smaller chickens and quail though they get along fine with geese and even the call ducks. They are completely non aggressive with humans and other non chicken/quail animals. I have been very pleased with them as pets. They will gobble to you if you talk to them and walk up to you for treats. We have the two males and two females. |
