I am going through a crisis in this pen due to selling off too many nice babies and now my breeders are getting older and subject to age related issues. I am now holding onto ALL buff babies and severely limiting the eggs that go out. As I go through grown out babies I'll pick the best for the pen and start slowly releasing buffs for purchase.

Upcoming Show/Breeder Pullets for 2009 They all unfortunately were put in a pen together and were all 3 attacked and their tail feathers pecked into bleeding stubs by a couple of angry hens. This is why you don't see much tail on these- they are now in a safe pen recovering nicely. One of the girls had not only her tail feathers pecked, but then they got to skin and pecked her backend bare and her tail into hamburger. She may never properly regrow her tail but I knew what it looked like before and it was nice. These were hatched over the winter 2007/2008. |
